Rob Cohen
Rob Cohen started with Auto Advisory Services in 1994 and he became President in 2006. Prior to devoting his full time effort to Auto Advisory Services, Rob represented dealers in litigation for four years. Rob specialized in the defense of consumer claims and represented licensees before DMV administrative hearings. He developed a strong background inside dealerships by working as a car salesman and doing F&I during law school. Rob received his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine and then went on to earn his J.D. from Whittier College, School of Law.
Rob currently serves as Vice President of the National Association of Dealer Counsel (NADC), is editor of Transmission (Auto Advisory Services’ monthly newsletter) and The Defender (the NADC newsletter), and has been published in Ward’s Dealer Business, Orange County Business Journal and F&I Management and Technology. He is a frequent speaker and trainer on a wide range of subjects pertaining to dealership sales and finance compliance. Rob co-authored the top-selling Automotive Dealership Information Safeguards Manual, the Automotive Dealership Identity Theft Guide, as well as the recently published Vehicle Finance and Compliance Documents Guide. Scott Jakust
Scott joined Auto Advisory Services in 1987 as a full time consultant. An attorney and member of the California Bar, Scott is well respected in the industry and is highly regarded by his peers for his tireless attention to detail. Scott is our lead consultant and is highly knowledgeable in all areas of both federal and state law as it applies to dealer operations. Scott has devoted many years to providing consulting assistance to dealers.
Lisa Singer
Lisa re-joined Auto Advisory Legal in 2010. An attorney and member of the California bar, Lisa previously served as the General Counsel of the Cush Automotive Group for five years. In that capacity, Lisa handled all legal matters relating to the dealer group. She oversaw the group's human resources department, worker's compensation and business liability insurance programs. Lisa also handled consumer complaints, and reviewed and negotiated all dealership agreements with vendors, manufacturers, insurers and lenders. In addition, Lisa created and implemented loss prevention programs designed to promote legal compliance among dealership employees. Similarly, Lisa developed and implemented Auto Advisory Services' Customized Compliance Certification ("CCC") program. For four years, she worked with Auto Advisory's dealer clients throughout California. While heading the CCC program, Lisa created custom codes of ethics forms for salespeople as well as sales and finance managers. As part of the CCC program, Lisa also conducted compliance seminars and numerous legal workshops for dealership managers and employees.
